spring of old tea tree leaves 2018
To learn to get most of your tea, takes time, fine tuning, practice. I just would like to encourage you all here to constantly try various ways and take notice how your tea will taste. At this point it's not tea, the tea leaves..
now I understand why local tea merchants said that they are all tired of new teas. This spring was exceptional and its leaves will knock you off a chair. My friend Liu even lost his taste and took him several weeks of getting it back. Myself after a 7 days ride through tea mountains and tea houses of Jinghong, the last night of the journey my taste buds simply refused to function.
When back at home, now savouring these spring teas, for more than two weeks now I full know why. This spring old tea tree leaves are very strong, in taste, less in scents (still strong). Drinking each morning pu-erh teas of these mountains and then having been off more tea for the rest of the days. Several times I tried to have another tea in the afternoon but this only ended with disappointment as I was not been able to fully ’embrace’ it.
I am experiencing again and again the fact that the way you prepare your tea will have tremendous impact on its final taste. When traveling in a car I use a glass tea bottle and the tea comes of it a kind of numb. Even I use glass still a good tea ware is missing. Even you have a proper tea ware (a very wide topic) also the heating of your water will have influence on the final taste again, the water, the charcoal, the setting of the body and mind these all and many more factors will influence your final experience.
To learn to get most of your tea, takes time, fine tuning, practice. I just would like to encourage you all here to constantly try various ways and take notice how your tea will taste. At this point it’s not only tea, the tea leaves are just a core of it but all other parts will shape a whole, a wide complex phenomena, the tea.
The previous 2 paragraphs I put here that you be aware that the fact I tell you that these spring teas are exceptional it does not mean you will find them so the same. So are they or not you might ask? I will leave this to your own experience.
Myself until I visited tea mountains of that and that tea I was a kind of less focused on a such tea. This year I went up to Mansa mountain, the 12 km drive up to the hills, where old Mansa village is, meeting people from a family who makes pu-erh.sk Mansa, spending time in the environment of tea growing area in the hills, such experience made me aware of many things.
Drinking tea, trying to stop between gulps, paying attention during gaps of each brews, would lead you to new findings, being aware of new qualities. There are many levels of taste, scents, body and mind experience. You won’t catch them if you are half focused, half talking to someone and half sipping tea. With years of drinking you slowly delve deeper and deeper.
