Details:
a first brew will tell you this is a shou puerh, not more not less, the colour and texture is really thick from the start so you do not have to do long brews either use a lot of leaves, the second brew tells you this is like an old tea with sweetness lingering somewhere in between, the third and fourth brew reminds me of 80’s jing gua, a tipsy tuocha, it is hardly noticable of shou characteristics, very clean and pure feeling, the aftertaste is a shou pu taste an unique nutty sheng puerh note, later brews get lighter and sweeter, starting as shou ending as a sweet candy
This shou/shu puerh is made of gushu old tea trees leaves. So it is a special tea as rarely such tea leaves are used to make shou puerh and indeed the teas is very special and very drinkable even for myself, a very rare occasion shu drinker.
It is a first first class batch N.6 that Veian made. Some of you might tried the one made of big leaves this spring so I would say this is even better one.
The cake is pressed rather gently so it is more fragile still sticks together.
This year Thai pu-erh teas wrappers are designed by Miloš Karásek, a Slovak artist and my tea friend. The theme is the line that has no beginning and no end. They are printed on a natural paper that is very nice but could be fragile too. So forgive me any small breakages of the wrapping paper that might appear. The whole graphics beauty can be seen once the wrapper is fully unfolded.
