Name: Lao Banzhang
Year: 2005
Weight: chunks (from a 1 kg cake/bing)
Details:
A first rinse brew is already ‘drinkable’, I found a purity in it already. The first ‘real’ brew show a bit storage notes but mainly strong Bulang mountain irony sweet flavour. A strong slow gradual effect on the mind and the body. The energy rises slowly but steadily. The tea is indeed strong at least today gives me so much vigour. The taste buds are overwhelmed with unique ‘hard to describe’ aged Lao Banzhang taste. A very fine sweet and strong taste goes for brews.
I find a practise of drinking such old tea, first to drink ‘young’ sheng to start with. The old brew as a second or third only. The body gets relaxed and tuned in with the young lad.
This tea comes from 1 kg cake made by Liming tea factory, subbranch called Ba Jiao Ting, it is the logo with the eight square pagoda like tower. In the moment only a loose ‘dismantled’ chunks are available. The cake is pretty expensive still can be order on request. The cakes contains also pang xie (螃蟹) so called crabs feet which is a perennial herb. They say it helps ‘to clean the blood and to get meridians opened’. My feeling is pretty strong in terms of body feeling, right after first brew I feel like ‘growing and opening’.
