This cake is made of 2017 spring maocha that was stored until this year by Veian tea farmer. He decided to make a successor of Lao Cha 2016 that I asked to make some years ago.
The name of the cake ‘MANY FACES’ is made up by myself while drinking this tea.
my tasting notes:
strong, instant head energy, elegantly rough, noble scent of exotic wood incense, tasting older (like 10 years old tea), when tea hitting the mouth cavity the concert of flavours is almost a shocking attack on tasting buds, slowly melting into bits and pieces, cooling down porcelain pitcher emits genuine mountain character tea leaves scents,
this tea will penetrate deep into your experience
you will either like it or you will not comprehend it (don’t worry many teas took me several years to grasp and fully undestand)
this tea is like a rough ZEN teacher who conveys the teaching with a sudden smack of his stick
I brewed the tea rather a rough style, long and strong brews, if brewed with more gentle way you may achieve a different results.
added on 23.04.2023: It happen3d to me uncountable times that the moment I want to put aside a tea, meaning a teapot with tea leaves brewed just enough, the last cups gives me this amazing brew. This was the case with MANY FACES too. After a several hardcore ‘thai character’ taste profile brews I thought that’s just enough, I thought to taste the last brew that was forgotten for several minutes, the colour was just beautyful, and the taste beyond expectations, thick mounthfeel, strong of course but the aftertaste with this exotic wood and expensive scent like myrha came up. Uhhh this tea will age into a gem I thought but now is now and the future can or can not come for us. Enjoy the moment.
